South Park The Fractured But Whole Releases Today… – Here’s What To Expect

Mysterion and Cartman

Spread The Love!

The time is finally upon us once again to enter the world of South Park and I can’t wait to jump into the hype train, drive full steam ahead and crash into cartman’s house so I can embark on this epic adventure promised by its Ubisoft developers.

I wanted to write this ahead of schedule for people who are not sure what to expect here, and for the record I don’t know either until I play the game. However, I will be showcasing everything from what the developers have promised as well as demo’s played by journalists and you guy’s, at the various gaming events previously held.

Superhero’s, Villians and Priests? – Gameplay

The Fractured But Whole is set to be released with twelve classes for players to choose and without naming or spoiling them all for you to enjoy, here are a couple: Karate Kid, Gadgeteer and Netherborn. As you can tell by the names of these three you can expect the rest of the classes to be just as unique, it will be interesting finding out what kind of abilities and weapons each of the classes possess.

In addition there is apparently a unique system involving gender customization, were the gender you make your character directly affects how other characters in the game respond and view you. To me its different and it’ll be good to see how south park handles this, in terms of issues such as the topic on gender equality. I predict they will create some kind controversy or goof out of it.

On the topic of controversies, this next system has sparked a bit of outrage. As the race you choose for your character is actually the difficulty meter for in game. I’m not sure how this will work and what race will equal which difficulty but I suppose we will find out once we start playing the games initial segments.

Combat is said to be fluid with battles being more dynamic and strategic when coming up against enemy foe’s. Compared to the previous installment where battle scenarios were very linear, as you couldn’t move your character anywhere to get out of range of incoming attacks. In the new installment its another story (literally) with the ability to move allies around the room to use range attacks, perform special combo moves with your allies and gain a strategic position over enemy AI.

Changing abilities and classes is also made more streamline with a special menu to change them on the go. Making it more easy to integrate and try out when in certain situations or involving different enemy types.

The Story – The Fractured Stick

The story of South Park The Fractured But Whole follows that of its predecessor The Stick Of Truth, and tie’s in with the release of season 21 of south park’s TV series. It begins with a civil war between superhero franchises, Cartman’s ‘Coon and Friends’ and new rival group ‘Freedom Pals’, led by Mysterion… no more details about the story will be shared in this article because I want to avoid spoiling it for others. If you would like to know more, here is a behind the scenes video that provides more details on the story, game play and art style…

If you didn’t get the chance to play the last game, what I can tell you is too expect an ‘authentic’ south park television experience. That has been written by South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, featuring all the original and side characters, art direction and crazy events that you come to expect from the television series.

Playing The Show

This was just a quick article to let people know about some systems in the game based on what the developers had shared, obviously there will be much more in the actual game that I had not mentioned.

If you’re thinking about getting the game I will leave links down below. On PC, you will be able to purchase and download the game from the steam store as well.

I hope you guy’s enjoyed reading this quick preview of the game’s release today, I will most likely be making a review on the game in the coming days and give my thoughts.

Let me know in the comments if you have played the game and give me your thoughts!

Take care guy’s and have a great day!
