Spyro Remastered PS4 (Coming This Year!!)

spyro remastered releasing 2018

Spread The Love!

Wow wow wow wow wow… Speechless and breathless, I raced all the way home when I heard the news (not literally) but I was excited to share this nonetheless.

Guy’s (let’s get serious). 2017 was a terrible year for gaming, we had some completely forgettable games; with loot boxes wanting me to give up on any form of virtual entertainment.

It’s actually what motivated me to start this website because I wanted gaming to once again be enjoyable, and not all just about meeting profit margins.

Luckily 2018 is shaping up to be a great year for gaming, with my optimism levels shooting through the roof.

Those levels began with a “blast to the past” remastered Crash Bandicoot (which sold like hotcakes) last year, and are now rising once more with rumours of a Spyro Trilogy Remaster for PS4.

According To Another According

An article reported by Kotaku states:

“According to multiple sources familiar with the project, Activision is currently working on a Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster, which will be announced in March 2018 and released in Q3 2018.”

As you would come to expect from a remastered PS1 game, the newly updated Trilogy has been said to feature “new assets, lighting, animations and cinematics, as well as a remastered soundtrack.”

The remaster will also include all three games of the trilogy including: “Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage!, and Year of the Dragon”.

In addition, sources point towards a September 2018 release, which makes sense as this was the same month as its first release back in 1998.

Breathing Fire

The announcement is still to come! so prepare yourself for March!

This is the year of the dragon, with Spyro’s 20th anniversary nearly upon us and (hopefully the game too).

Don’t forget to share this post and your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks guy’s and take care!

Jeremy.

  1. Your post is very nice and informative about games. The only thing I saw that I wasn’t sure if it is correct or not is your one title you have “According to Another According”. Very nice and I wish you success with your post.

    1. Hey Linda thanks for the comment. That sub-title was just for a ‘play on words’ to catch the readers attention and highlight how viral news is always about a certain rumoured ‘according’.

  2. Jeremy, Really! Spyro 🙂

Boy, somebody just pressed the right buttons on the way-back machine.
    Spyro, really 🙂
My son and I nearly drove my wife crazy with that game. We were playing it constantly.
I’m not telling her it’s being revamped, because I’ll need to plan it with my son so we can have a marathon for old time’s sake. I wonder if both our wives will go crazy? – Nah, not with netflix 🙂

  3. Spyro! now that takes me back a bit, I can remember me and my brother physically fighting over whose turn it was to play it (I won 99% of the time :D) My children would love this game if it were to come out now in the better graphics we have these days but I’m not sure what they would think of the game back in the day.
Thanks for the blast from the past, I will keep checking in on this website for updates, cheers

    1. It brings back a lot of nostalgia for everyone Matt and I’m glad everyone can share the same memories! Let’s hope it’s just as good as it were before:)

  4. Spyro sounds like an awesome game and it’s exciting that a triology will be released…I’m on the fence about remaking things with nostalgic value but there’s also something to be said for taking something beloved and improving it with better artwork and graphics and functionality!

  5. Awwwwh Spyro…I remember that game! From the good ole days of Resident Evil 2 and Mario 64!

I like these old games and I am glad that they are remaking some of them. They were made before gaming developers became so competitive, and as well, when they improved the graphics, i.e.PS1 vs PS2, it was a really big deal! Now, I think all the games look great.

Is this strictly going to be PS4? I know it used to be just for PS.

    1. Hey Irma, it’s an awesome game and the anticipation is killing me!

Yes the remake will be strictly for PS4 but word on the street is there could be a possibility for PC aswell.
